how old is pink

As a long-time fan, I’m practically obsessed with Pink’s music. I’ve been blasting the album M!ssundaztood since its release in 2001 and I don’t think I’m over it, yet.

So, if you’re a fellow Pink stan and are wondering about the juice details of her life, you’ve come to the right place.

How old is pink? What’s her story? How did she start her career? Let’s talk about everything you should know about the popular American R&B singer below.

How Old Is Pink?

I know she looks young, but Pink is already 45 years old! Her real name is Alecia Beth Moore and she was born on September 8, 1979, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

While you won’t be able to guess it from her positive and tough image, Pink grew up in a broken family. Her parents divorced when she was only ten, leading to a difficult childhood.

Growing up without both her parents, Pink’s teenage years were turbulent and troubled. Drawn to the wrong people, she started taking drugs, ran away from home, and got arrested multiple times.

In 2019, Pink opened up to Carson Daly about her ongoing struggles with anxiety and depression. She also shared that she suffered a miscarriage at the age of 17.

Now, however, with two beautiful children and a supportive husband, Carey Hart, Pink certainly has managed to turn things around.

At 45, watching her kids grow has taken center stage and became “one of the coolest things” in the singer’s life. “It [motherhood] softened me to the world,” Pink confessed in an interview.

Pink Career History

It may surprise you but Pink started her career as a member of a girl group, Basic Instinct, when she was 14. They disbanded after two years, though, and she got into another R&B group, Choice, before going solo in 1999.

Pink’s career began to shine in 2001, with the release of her debut single, There You Go, under the Laface Records label. The song became her first hit reaching #7 on the Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart.

Following her successful first single, Pink followed with an album, Can’t Take Me Home, in April 2000. It, too, became a commercial success and peaked at #26 on the Billboard 200 Charts.

A little over one year after her debut, the singer would release her most successful album, M!ssundaztood (2002), which sold over 13 million copies globally.

It was a massive hit, and it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that it was the music of that year. The album placed Pink on everybody’s radar and loved her blending of R&B, pop music, and rock into her sound.

Since the start of Pink’s career, she’s released a total of nine studio albums, selling a staggering 60 million copies worldwide. Four of her singles reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart earning Pink multiple Grammy Awards.

“I love writing songs. I love singing songs. I love performing. Sitting with a guitar is one of my favorite things I’ll ever do,” the singer expressed in an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music.

What Is Pink’s Net Worth?

Owing to her hammering success in the industry, celebritynetworth estimates her net worth to be around $200 million.

Pink’s family resides on a sprawling 200-acre ranch in Santa Ynez Valley. The singer and her husband bought the property in 2013, which cost $12 million.

Final Thoughts

As one of the most successful singers of our time, Pink’s story is a testament to how not giving up on your dreams ultimately leads to the greatest rewards.

At 45, she’s conquered the stage and will undoubtedly continue doing so for the foreseeable future. You rock on, Pink!
