But who is Calle Walton? And what’s her story? You’re about to find out.
Who Is Calle Walton?
Walton was born in Peterborough, New Hampshire, on March 7, 2000.
She attended high school in Peterborough, but then she began losing her eyesight and had to move to W. Ross Macdonald School for the Blind in Ontario, Canada.

How Did Calle Walton Lose Her Eyesight?
Calle started having eyesight issues when she was 8 years old. After running a few tests, the doctors diagnosed Calle with a mass on her optic nerve, which was causing inflammation.
She took many medications in hopes of keeping her inflammation under control and preserving her eyesight. Unfortunately, the tumor kept growing and her eyesight kept getting worse. By the time Calle reached her senior year, her doctors realized she’d been misdiagnosed.
The tumor on her optic nerve turned out to be cancerous. She then began taking chemotherapy and ultimately beat cancer. Unfortunately, she didn’t get to graduate with her class and she lost her eyesight for good.
Of course, losing her eyesight was a big hit for Calle. It took her some time to process the fact that this is how she’ll spend the rest of her life.
She had mixed feelings between gratitude for surviving cancer, disappointment for losing her eyesight, and fear of what her future would hold for her.
