It's official! A California boy playing with matches started a 38,000 acre fire. Victoria's Secret in hot water over releasing scantily-clad dolls. Sex is a no-no in the cabins inside the new jumbo airliner, The Airbus A380. The State of Texas and Travis County are both suing the developer who polluted Hamilton Pool. Remember that military contractor that killed innocent people in Iraq, your government is reportedly granting them immunity. The House passes legislation...
Travis County has requested an injunction against the developers of the Ranches at Hamilton Pool to force them to stop construction unless they start doing more to keep runoff from their site out of Hamilton Pool. Although they presumably have an interest in keeping their namesake pool clean enough for residents to enjoy, an independent consultant hired by Travis County has determined that the development is responsible for a majority, if not all, of the...
This weekend a biker in town for the Republic of Texas Rally was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident off of Hamilton Pool Road. On Friday, an impatient driver of a mid-size (4dr, dark-colored) sedan decided to try to pass two bikers (illegally), hit Houstonite John T. Rodriguez, then drove off and left the hurt biker in the road. If you know anything about this accident, call (512) 997-4131. And please, watch for bikers on the road.

Headlining was accordionist Ponty Bone (yes, that's his real performing name) and his backup band the Squeezetones (which includes Austin's Blues King 2006, Richard Segura).
-Today (July 22) at Barton Springs I walked by a guy who was sitting on the edge of the pool holding a crawfish. The lifeguard must of seen it too because he shouted at the guy, "Sir! Is that a crawfish in your hand? You have to put him back in the water!"
The rain has come to wash away all the sins of SXSW, and believe us, there was a lot of sin. Amazingly, it also appears to have washed away most of the live music -- looking at the music listings for this week, we see almost nothing but DJs and karaoke. Where have all the rockers gone?
Crowds getting to you? That party you went to in South Austin last night push you over the edge? Why not get out of town for an afternoon and spend some time at one of the lovely county parks scattered all around Austin.
