You look like you need a cupcake, and that is just what you will get tonight when the Austin Parks Foundation and the Alamo Drafthouse bring you Election, the second installment in the spring Movies in the Park series. However, that cupcake will be laced with arsenic icing and a heavy dose of satire extract. When we first saw Election back in the late 90’s, high school was still fresh enough in our minds that......

Favorite posts by local bloggers this week: Farewell to The Rich Girls Are Weeping! They are moving to Brooklyn. By now they are probably already there. And on the moving theme, clever-lazy will miss her neighbor's cat. Ben at Veg Out! Austin says that Dog Almighty now has a pizza dog. We are intrigued. As summer lurks just around the corner, we suggest getting out and enjoying the still-gentle evenings of ‘spring’ with your neighbors and friends (and Austinist, of course). Thursday night, the the Austin Parks Foundation brings you one of the funniest movies of all time (yes, we love the Coen brothers, especially their earlier works), “Raising Arizona.” Festivities begin at 7pm in Republic Square Park (4th and Guadalupe) with a Huggies Toss (We are not......
