So, I guess I just got kicked out of another My Little Pony forum. :( Here are the results of the University Democrats (UT-Austin) & Central Austin Democrats (CAD) endorsements for Travis County and statewide elections. A Travis County election judge claims he's discovered 1,800 active registered voters who were inadvertently deleted from county voter rolls since 2004. Art: Stuffed wild animals turned inside out. Why sci-fi is the last great literature of ideas.......

Just like last year, Austin's in for another rainy July 4th. With Lake Travis still hovering around 700 feet above sea level and an estimated 2-4 inches of rain on the way, the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) is keeping all area lakes closed for boating, including Lake Austin and Town Lake. "Debris and high water from floodwaters make the lakes unsafe," reads the news bulletin post to LCRA's site this afternoon. "LCRA will......

Unless you frequent the Hike and Bike Trail or attend Austin High School, you may not have noticed the recent construction of a lime green wall and several over-sized pieces of fruit on the southwest corner of Veterans Drive and Lake Austin Boulevard. These new additions to a popular West Austin corner, already host to Magnolia Cafe, Thundercloud Subs and Deep Eddy Cabaret, are attributed to the good people at Daily Juice down on......

Overheard at Austin High: Like, holy crap, guys. OMG! LYLAS! Listen up! Jenny told Tommy that Marcy told Lucy that Genie let Sally read Susie Tanner’s notebook, in which it is totally written that some kids in the cafeteria are performing High School Musical and that Will Andastaphonopolus is big time G-A-Y. G…A…whoa. Wait. What? Did you say High School Musical? Fer sure, biz-natch. Totally fer sure. I’ve already friend-requested the show on Myspace.......

Under advice of my lawyer (and not without great resistance on my part) I have agreed to settle the matter with AISD out of court. With this agreement the district asked that I resign my position as an art teacher at Austin High School. My legal bills were mounting and my lawyer felt that the settlement was in my......

This past July 4th at the heinous crack of dawn, Team Austinist showed up in full force to take on the first-ever Silicon Labs Marathon Relay. It was a hot and sweaty four hours (we truly, truly wish we were talking about our bedroom antics) and by the time we left the Austin High School staging grounds, we were physically beaten and emotionally distraught (that sounds more familiar). But, by George, we finished it!......
