Wow - I can't think of a better way to WASTE EIGHT MILLION dollars. Oh yeah, i can, invading a sovern nation on baseless claims of WMD and then proceeding to spend 1 BILLION a month when people in america don't have health insurance. Way to go UT you are right up there with W in my book of idiots.

Do I think we need to spend this kind of money on a scoreboard? No. Do I think it's crazy to do so? Yes. Do I really think they would spend that money on education? No. Do I realize how much money football brings in and that all of the money they are spending on this they generated? Yes. Do I like to ask myself questions and answer them myself? Ironically, no.
That's just a small chunk of their $93 million dollar per year budget. That thing will be around for at least 5 years...maybe. Just think what UT could do for so many programs in Austin if only they didn't have to pay their football players so much. Can't they just make it an even $90 mil and give the other $3.1 mil to some local charities or something?
Yeah...while I agree with the comments above -- although the LCD-WMD connection is a tiny bit of a stretch -- I gotta admit: this thing's going to be pretty damn cool when it's up and running.
Whine whine, bitch bitch. None of this is taxpayer funded. If you people are so worried in underfunding of higher education in Texas, complain to your representatives in the Lege. Don't carp about some stupid scoreboard.
