You Really Have No Excuse

alejandro2000.gifThis time around, you can’t say that you didn’t know about it in far enough advance. You can’t say that you had something already scheduled. When Alejandro Escovedo performs twice later this week at the Continental Club, you really have no excuse to miss one of Austin’s greatest singer-songwriters, ever. Period. From his early days in the Nuns, Rank & File, the True Believers, and Buick Mackane, Escovedo has always been an innovator, seamlessly mixing varied genres to produce a storied back-catalog. As a solo artist, Escovedo has enjoyed much-deserved critical acclaim and has developed a rabid following around the U.S. and Canada. Escovedo shows are legendary, even more so when he performs at the Continental Club. Trust us on this, you don’t want to miss Alejandro. He has two shows this week, one on Thursday, May 12th and one on Friday, May 13th. Thursday’s show is at 11:30 p.m. Alejandro will perform twice on Friday. The doors open at 7 p.m., as the first show begins at 8 p.m. A later show will follow.
