Celebrity Sightings: Forlani and Gladwell
We know that Austin isn't a town that goes bat-shit over celebrities, but it is nice every once in a while to see one of the glamorous, glowing wonderbunnies from heaven wandering our streets, looking for a good place to get BBQ. Yesterday, Austinist bumped into Claire Forlani of the wildly opposite films, "Mallrats" and "Meet Joe Black." Sadly, she did not respond to repeated and desperate screaming of her name, so all we got was a shot of her walking away.

We had better luck later that night when we bumped into Malcolm Gladwell, author of Blink and The Tipping Point, who will be giving a keynote at SXSW Interactive. Mr. Gladwell was nice enough to let us buy him a drink and chat for a while, and even passed out his digits so we could hook him up with all the good parties.
Later that evening, while he wasn't looking, we tried to lick his head.

And finally, we hear rumors that Elijah Wood is in town, and was out to see DC-area band Carbonleaf at Stubb's BBQ last night. The last time we saw that little dwarf, we were sitting in a cafe in Wellington, New Zealand, and he was ... well, nevermind. He's small. That's our point.

Elijah Wood was in town for "Hooligans," part of SXSW Film this year. The afterparty was at Maggie Mae's where he proceded to DJ some of the event (rather badly might I add).
hey ben,
